It Changes
If the original Mona Lisa was destroyed, wouldn’t you look at every photograph of it and think, ” This doesn’t exist anymore.” Then slowly as time wore on, it would seem more distant, being out of existence, until people grew disinterested and forgot about it. Decades later, a school boy discovers the painting in a book and has never seen it before. He thinks little of it, and closes the book.

Aren’t many things nowadays like this? Even perceptions, ideas, thoughts. People come up with new ideas only to discover later that they were actually very old ones. Or someone will get wrapped up in an entirely digital world and will forget the entrancing and invigorating feeling of reading a book. What a world we live in.
I agree. Thinking about it really emboldens the boundaries of our minds: entire ways of life, persuasions of thought gone simply because nobody remembered to tell anybody else.
