My Bloody Valentine, Live at the Concourse in San Francisco
I saw independent music giants My Bloody Valentine Tuesday night at the Concourse at the San Francisco Design Center in San Francisco. I didn’t get any good photos but I’ve included some I’ve found on the Internet of the show, as well as a copy of the bootleg zipped in MP3 format. It was amazing!

The Standard Tribesmen Play the Delta of Venus

Our band, The Standard Tribesmen, played a show at the Delta of Venus in Davis, CA last Sunday. Here’s a C- quality recording I made on a handheld cassette recorder of one song:

Here’s a small MP3 of the subbing I did on KDVS last night. Check it out if you agree that all sound waves should be treated equally.
Song: Untitled October Song
I started recording and writing music again. The static/noise/fuzz is intentional/welcomed:

Comments not especially welcome; it’s not a mind-blowing track.

The Puzzles - Mirror Boy
I recorded a simple tune with my friend Wes:
I was half-expecting you there,
I thought maybe you’d changed your hair
You came in looking like a mess,
In that God-awful, ugly dress
And it wasn’t until I had to leave,
That you thought of something to say to me
You said, ” Maybe we could have a time,
With some records and a thing of boxed wine.”
And I said, ” Sure.”

Another delightful August day
Today I woke to my alarm. My bed was comfortable and the outside air that seeped in was cool and refreshing, and soft somehow. In a most classic fashion, I threw my arms up in a yawn, shaking off my sleepiness.
My mind felt unusually vacant, and I felt free. I immediately considered the numerous joyful ways I could spend today. In the shower, I tried my best to think of nothing at all, and let the feeling linger.
Now I wait, with no plan at all, curious of what will happen today. Another delightful August day.
Unrelated, I listened to an excellent short story by Ray Bradbury, originally aired on the radio show “X-Minus One” in 1956. I’ve made it available as a MP3 download for your enjoyment: click here to stream or download (~5MB, 4:41, MP3 VBR ~160kbps).
